A new study has found that the number of new websites is continuing to grow at a rapid pace.
The report, from web management company Verisign, found that nearly 200 million domain names were registered in the first quarter of 2010, an increase of six per cent compared to last year.
The company also referenced a study from the Information Technology and Innovation Foundation that claimed that worldwide online commerce was now worth $1.5 trillion and could be worth up to $3.8 trillion by 2020.
The study also estimated that online commerce in Europe had grown by 85 per cent between 2004 and 2009 and rated Denmark, Sweden and the UK amongst the top e-commerce nations in the world.
