Retailers conducting their operations primarily over the internet when it comes to dealing with this issue, according to data coming from email company RedEye, this week.
The firm find that just seven per cent of Britain's major e-commerce retailers chase abandoned shopping baskets by using emails.
RedEye says this has to be taken care of as 85 per cent of customers who do by from internet stores say they've abandoned carts in the past.
The firm also found 47 per cent of retailers don't send welcome emails to new subscribers.
