Small businesses are putting themselves at risk by not registering trademarks.
That's according to a new study of small companies which claims nearly 90 per cent of respondents said they'd not registered a trade mark, with 35 per cent insisting it wasn't that important to their business.
Nearly four in ten polled said they didn't have the time to sort it out and nearly two in ten said they couldn't afford it.
An industry expert said “What’s concerning is that so few businesses realise how important getting the right protection for their company’s name or logo is.”
