More than half of the UK's small businesses are planning to introduce new products or services next year despite the tough economic climate.
New stats released by the Federation of Small Businesses claims nearly 3 in 10 of the 10,000 respondents increased profitability and 30 per cent saw sales volume rise.
However they also say that small businesses are continuing to struggle financially and need more help from the government, including a freeze on taxes, national insurance contributions, renewal of the Enterprise Finance Guaranteed and alternative routes to finance.
