More people are set to shop over the internet than will attend church this Christmas day, according to a leading ecommerce organisation.
IMRG says UK consumers could break the £150 million mark this year on Christmas Day for the first time.
The body says this is down to savvy shoppers looking to get their hands on early bargains from sales run by internet retail websites.
IMRG thinks around 4.8 million people are expected to be shopping using HTML on December 25th, while spending on Boxing Day will breach the £300 million figure.
Managing director of IMRG, David Smith says: "Christmas Day has become a busy online shopping day in recent years, as people with an eye for value look to take advantage of the 24/7 nature of online retail."
