In news which shows just what can be achieved through good web design, internet giants Amazon has come up with an idea inspired by Christmas gifts.
A new online technology has been invented by the firm which allows customers to return unwanted gifts – before they've even been received.
American daily newspaper The Washington Post says it has read the documents for patent from Amazon, which detail how people can also exchange their gift for one they'd really like.
The patents says: "For example, the user may specify such a rule because the user believes that this potential sender has different tastes than the user."
The newspaper says analysts of internet retailing think the industry would welcome this idea with open arms, as too much time and money is wasted on returns.
