This tutorial will talk to you through how to change the content of your
website using option 3.
At the moment the pages on your website are blank, so to start adding your text, pictures, music or videos, click the 'Change content button' from the Main Options page.
Now, choose the page on your website you want to edit – you will see a drop down menu of all your empty pages so simply select the one you'd like to work on.
Let's start with page 1, which will always be your homepage; this is first page that your visitors will see so it needs to grab their attention.
Next, you'll see the change content page , which can be set to three different levels – simple, creative and advanced.
If you're a beginner, stick with simple then as you get more confident you can switch to creative mode and a selection of buttons will appear, similar to Microsoft Word. Now you can change font text, edit images and even add HTML code to your website if you wish.
So, in simple mode the first box you'll see allows you to enter the title of your page, so for example, 'My homepage'. The next box is for a short description of your page – maybe 'Welcome to my website'.
The third and largest box represents the main section of your website and you can include type any text in here, then insert pictures or downloads.
If you'd like to insert a picture, click on the area you would like your picture, then 'Click here to add a picture'. A pop up box will now appear. Click on the browse button, select your image, click open, then the 'Click to send your picture' button.
When the image is sent successfully, a pop up box will appear and you MUST click 'Continue'. If you want to change the layout and sizes of your images, you need to switch to creative mode.
The final part of option 3, is adding a download – this is a file visitors can click on to download and keep on their computer and can be a document, movie or music.
Again, click on the area you'd like to place your download and then 'Click here to add a download'. Follow the same instructions as you would to add a picture.
Remember to click on 'Save your changes' so you do not lose any new information you've added.
To see all your changes live on the internet, you need to use option 4 – 'Publish your site.' Hit this button and voila…you'll see your website in all its glory!
