Facebook is to take payments for advertising on its site through PayPal, it has been announced.
The move will be welcome to small businesses worldwide who want to advertise to Facebook’s millions of dedicated users.
Advertisers will now have a quick, safe and secure way of paying Facebook. To date, it has been particularly tricky for non-US companies to get in on the act, due to the awkwardness of making payments to the California-based social networking giant.
With over 400 million users across the globe, Facebook is an advertising opportunity that no small e-commerce firm can afford to ignore.
Indeed, the tie-up is something of a homecoming for PayPal. It was one of the first investors to put money into Facebook, back in 2004.
